SE “Zorya”-“Mashproekt” will extend the engines service life
During the year 2021, SE “Zorya”-“Mashproekt” plans on adopting new grades of heat-resisting alloys for serial production of gas turbine engines. Through the use of new promising materials the engines service life will be extended by 1.5 times.
The company’s metallurgical division research team in cooperation with the specialists from institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine has developed several compositions of nickel-based heat-resisting noncorrosive casting alloys. The alloys are intended for manufacturing turbine rotor blades in single-crystalline and polycrystalline versions.
The new grades of allows have been developed on the basis of allows that are currently in use in serial production, so they can be introduced for all engine types being currently serially manufactured as well as for newly developed engines, in particular, for a new base engine rated 32 MW.
SE “Zorya”-“Mashproekt” General Director Denys Gordiyenko notes:
“Still we continue the works on development of new machinery and improvement of serial products. Transition to new alloy grades for manufacturing of turbine rotor blades will considerably extend the service life of our engines. By this parameter, the Company’s products will be at the cutting edge in the world gas turbine construction. Therefore, we will be able to supply the customers with the product upgraded to the level of leading offers on the market.”
The increase in heat resistance temperature was achieved with the use of the latest directions of the modern metallurgical science of nickel-based alloys for casting gas turbine blades.
The comprehensive studies of the obtained alloys were completed at the Company. The set of experimental non-cooled and cooled blades is being tested directly on the 5 MW engines.
For many years, the Enterprise has been developing materials, which are able to provide necessary parameters and service life of gas turbine engines operating both on light- and heavy-grade diesel fuel and on poorly purified natural gas and also under the polluted air conditions, in particular, in the marine salted air.
SE “Zorya”-“Mashproekt” thus provides the highest characteristics of its products in all areas of their application.
